Best Practices Round Table
Some of the topics to be discussed include:

  • When putting a new truck into service for a customer, how do you find out ahead of time if that customer is suspended in the state and not able to get permits?
  • Is anyone doing anything new to try to curb health insurance expenses?
  • How are people accounting for OBCs and ELDs? Are they being expensed when purchased or depreciated? If depreciated, are they part of the capital cost of the truck or are they being treated as an asset separate from the truck?
  • How do you handle receivable payments via ACH debiting? Do you have an automated process to set up the weekly or monthly debits from customers’ bank accounts? How do you notify your customers; do you upload amounts to your on-line banking system?
  • Do you use factoring companies? What are the pros and cons?
  • My accounts payable person reports that using the rebate credit against invoices is very difficult this year. Is anyone else having this difficulty?
  • How do NationaLease members pay their salespeople? Base salary only, base plus commission, commission only, etc.?
