OAKBROOK TERRACE, IL June 18, 2009—Approximately one-third of the 175 independent businesses comprising NationaLease – one of the largest full-service truck leasing and maintenance organizations in North America – offer Dedicated Contract Carriage for customers with complex transportation and distribution needs.
In a recent survey of member companies, NationaLease statistically analyzed the specific services its members offer. “With a third of our members providing dedicated carriage capabilities, we’ve confirmed just how powerful a force NationaLease is in the dedicated marketplace,” said Gene Scoggins, NationaLease president. “Businesses with a national reach especially can call on the NationaLease organization to create solutions to their specific transportation needs. This could include joining members in connecting regions to provide the full coverage a national customer may need.”
Typically, dedicated contract carriage services cover a wide spectrum of services, including drivers, vehicles, maintenance, route planning, and administrative support and management.
The survey also shows that approximately one-third of the member companies have in excess of 500 customers and more than 6,000 drivers. Other services offered routinely are warehousing, dry and refrigerated transport, cross docking services, and one-way truck load service.
Celebrating its 65th Anniversary in 2009, NationaLease is one of the largest full service truck leasing organizations in North America, with more than 600 services locations throughout the U.S. and Canada, a combined customer fleet of 125,000 tractors, trucks, and trailers, and annual revenue in excess of $4 billion. The company provides comprehensive services for private fleets and transportation service providers and now comprises 175 independent businesses employing 22,000 people.
